Answer:

Explanation:

Can someone help me write a conclusion for my essay. I'm quite stuck on it. Here is the essay.
Some jellyfish are smaller than a pinky finger, but some are the most toxic, like the Irukandji jellyfish. Jellyfish are some of the most dangerous creatures in the ocean, let alone the world, while some are practically harmless others, have caused multiple deaths. These jellyfish are invading the oceans that surround us, this can lead to the endangering and possibly the extinction of some creatures in the ocean. Jellyfish not only, harm people with their possibly deadly stings but many animals in the ocean are affected by the invasion and the stings of the jellyfish. Though, it’s hard to stop global warming and stop pollution amongst 7 billion people, there are ways to decrease the number of these jellyfish. Barriers can be created and used to somewhat stop human interaction amongst humans and jellyfish, human interaction is one thing that is causing an increase in the population of jellyfish.

In the oceans, many species of dangerous jellyfish are invading. Many issues within the oceans and that are also dealt with on land are causing this to occur. Ports provide more space for jellyfish and their offspring and eggs. Pollution, global warming, and human interaction are also main factors leading to this invasion. The main issue with the jellyfish invasion is that it is putting people, sea-life, and the food chain in great danger, but another issue is that there is just way too many, in fact some jellyfish lay up to 40,000 eggs in a day, "Science data shows that over the past few years there has been an increase in swarms of jellyfish,” said Steve Hay, a plankton ecologist. Even though some jellyfish are quite harmless, some are extremely dangerous and it’s hard to tell the difference, especially to those who don’t know the difference and the different species.

Many things, including the food chain are in critical danger if the jellyfish invasion isn’t fixed. Some jellyfish kill sea-creatures and even people with their possibly deadly stings, and jellyfish eat prey’s offspring and eggs. If the invasion isn’t stopped, the food chain could possibly be demolished. The demolition of the food chain, could lead to the extinction of multiple species, at the very worst it could lead to the extinctions of humans. For sea-creatures, jellyfish create a rather harsher environment for them. Also, jellyfish have clogged up power plants in multiple countries including Japan, Philippines, and Israel. This has caused power outages amongst many in those countries.

There are ways to stop this invasion, but many of them are rather tough to accomplish. Stopping global warming and pollution would be very hard to accomplish amongst the more than 7 billion people in the world. But, there are some other ways that could prevent at least some of the over-growth. Decreasing the amount of ports, would decrease the amount of space where jellyfish can breed, which can lead to at-least a small decrease in jellyfish. Also, denying human interaction in some areas can decrease the jellyfish population a bit, as human interaction is a main factor in the increase of jellyfish. Also, increasing the number of Bereo jellyfish in the Black Sea can do some good for it, these jellyfish eat Mnemiopsis jellyfish, which do harm to the eco-system. But, decreasing the number of Mnemiopis is creating a more balanced system or at least in the Black Sea, “We are thinking about using the Bereo in other areas, but we are concerned. There is a real fear of negative ecological consequences from introducing new species.” Experts say. In Japan where their power plants are being clogged and disturbed by the increasing number of jellyfish, some high school students from Fisheries High School in Uwajima, Ehime Prefecture Japan decided to cook the jellyfish and turn them into a caramel candy hoping this can help at least a bit.

The competitors for this office sought as diligently to please their overseers, as the office-seekers in the political parties seek to please and deceive the people.

The same traits of character might be seen in Colonel Lloyd's slaves, as are seen in the slaves of the political parties.

Explanation:

The "Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass, An American Slave" is a memoir and a slave narrative by the narrator and author, a former slave himself Frederick Douglass. In this narrative, he recounts his life from birth under the slavery system where he was witness to lots of abuses of the blacks by their white masters. In chapter II, he particularly recounts the level of brainwashing these slaves were under when he recounts the joy of those slaves who are asked to visit the Great House Farm. He likens them to the elected representatives of the US Congress who feel proud to be a member of the high office. There seems to be a level of importance that is with the sent slave, far above his fellow slaves. These are no better than the 'slaves' of the government that do the bidding of their 'masters'. They blindly assert self importance to their being, assuming themselves to be above the others.

According to Scholasticism, truth is God's

Answers

All truth is God's truth

According to scholasticism, truth is God's WILL.

Perhaps the scholastic teacher most associated with this idea was John Duns Scotus (1266-1308).  We might call him "John from Duns, the Scotsman."  (That's what his name means - he was from the town of Duns on the Scottish border with England.)  Voluntarism was the philosophical idea championed by John Duns Scotus -- from voluntas, Latin for "will."  The teaching held that whatever God wills (desires) is always true.  Therefore, truth and God's will are synonymous.

"Scholasticism" was the name applied to the theological and philosophical tradition of the "schoolmen" or university scholars in the Middle Ages.  Later on,  the reformer Martin Luther criticized some of the core teachings of the scholastics--the university teachers of theology.  A central scholastic assertion was that if you "do what is in you" (fac quod in te est, as they said it in Latin), following that spark of God's will in you would gain you favor with God.  Luther fought against scholastic  philosophy with his emphasis on salvation coming solely by grace from God.  The grace of God became a higher emphasis in Luther's theology, as opposed to the "will of God" emphasis in scholasticism.

Which best explains how the writer's use of the underlined word creates a mysterious mood?

A quavering cry creates a feeling of calm.
A quavering cry creates a feeling of mischief.
A quavering cry creates a feeling of uncertainty.
A quavering cry creates a feeling of boredom.

Answers

quavering means like trembling or shaky so my best guess would be option c-uncertainty however I do not know for sure. It is definitely not calm or boredom, and mischief doesn't seem to fit with "mysterious."

Answer: A quavering cry creates a feeling of uncertainty.

The use of the word "quavering" conveys a feeling of uncertainty in this passage. The quavering cry cannot be calm, as it is a noisy, somewhat unexpected sound. Because it is not particularly intense, it is unlikely to convey mischief. Finally, a cry is also unlikely to convey a feeling of boredom.

According to this excerpt from "Loneliness . . . an American Malady" by Carson McCullers, what paradox do people struggle with in life?

Consciousness of self is the first abstract problem that the human being solves. Indeed, it is this self-consciousness that removes us from lower animals. This primitive grasp of identity develops with constantly shifting emphasis through all our years. Perhaps maturity is simply the history of those mutations that reveal to the individual the relation between himself and the world in which he finds himself.

After the first establishment of identity there comes the imperative need to lose this new-found sense of separateness and to belong to something larger and more powerful than the weak, lonely self. The sense of moral isolation is intolerable to us.

1. Self-consciousness arises at an early age, but people continue to develop personality in later years.
2. Maturity can only be gained once people become more aware of their personal needs.
3. Even though other animals are unaware of self, humans and other animals still struggle with social conformity.
4. Gaining awareness of one’s “self” causes a person to yearn for companionship with others.

The individuality tries to become part of a group of the person tries to become part of the people, and seek for social acceptance and social caring.

I know not how it was—but, with the first glimpse of the building, a sense of insufferable gloom pervaded my spirit . . .

In this excerpt from Edgar Allan Poe's "The Fall of the House of Usher," what mood do these lines evoke in the reader?

one of hostility

A is the correct answer because if you're topic is your hero, then you won't go looking for a subject that interests you and an audience. However the other 3 options are good ideas.

Answer:

CHAPTER II—THE SHE-WOLF, an excerpt
From White Fang
By Jack London

Breakfast eaten and the slim camp-outfit lashed to the sled, the men turned their backs on the cheery fire and launched out into the darkness. At once began to rise the cries that were fiercely sad—cries that called through the darkness and cold to one another and answered back. Conversation ceased. Daylight came at nine o'clock. At midday the sky to the south warmed to rose-colour, and marked where the bulge of the earth intervened between the meridian sun and the northern world. But the rose-colour swiftly faded. The grey light of day that remained lasted until three o'clock, when it, too, faded, and the pall of the Arctic night descended upon the lone and silent land.

As darkness came on, the hunting-cries to right and left and rear drew closer—so close that more than once they sent surges of fear through the toiling dogs, throwing them into short-lived panics.

At the conclusion of one such panic, when he and Henry had got the dogs back in the traces, Bill said:

"I wisht they'd strike game somewheres, an' go away an' leave us alone."

"They do get on the nerves horrible," Henry sympathized.

They spoke no more until camp was made.
