Why is transmitting information through computers cheap and fast

Answers

Answer 1

Hey there!

Just to be corny, what does a spider use to navigate the internet? The World Wide Web!  Did you catch that? Hopefully you did...

Anyway, enough with my jokes, here's your answer.

Transmitting information through computers are cheap and fast because of multiple things. The first reason is because they don't require a deliverer or shipping. They can literally be sent from anywhere and be delivered within 10 seconds-5 minutes, way faster than any mailman or delivery. How does it move that fast? Smaller files tend to move quicker among the invisible online delivery lines, most commonly known as cell towers. To get online info from your phone/computer to someone else's device, the file bounces from tower to tower to finally reach the destination.

I'm always open to any question or comment!

God Bless!

In the circuit seen here, the resistor has a resistance of 3 ohms. If no change in the battery size occurs, what will happen to the current if the resistance increases to 6 ohms?

A) It will increase by a factor of 2.

B) It will decrease by a factor of 2.

C) It will increase by a factor of 6.

D) It will decrease by a factor of 3.

Answers

Answer:

B

Explanation:

using ohm's law: v=IR

so I=v/R

resistance becomes double so current is halved

The current if the resistance increases to 6 ohms then it will decrease by a factor of 2. Hence option B is correct.

What is resistance?

Resistance is defined as a measure of the current's resistance and is a physical quantity. Ohm is a unit that it uses. A resistor is the component that is used to gauge the resistance in a circuit. An tool like a digital or analog multimeter is used to measure resistance. A substance's ability to obstruct the flow of electrical current is referred to as resistance.

Ohm's law states that the voltage or potential difference in a circuit is equal to the product of the current and resistance in the circuit. i.e., V = I R. Given is that the resistance grew from its starting value of 3 ohm to 6 ohm. As a result, current will drop there to half as resistance doubles.

Thus, the current if the resistance increases to 6 ohms then it will decrease by a factor of 2. Hence option B is correct.

Which sentence describes a task on which a genetic engineer is most likely to work?
A. modifying the traits of a bacterium
B. conducting a field survey of a plant disease
C. examining physical objects for fragments of DNA
D. compiling the desirable properties of a plant species

Answers

C) examining physical objects for fragments of DNA

Final answer:

The task most likely performed by a genetic engineer is modifying the traits of a bacterium, which is in line with the process of genetic engineering that uses recombinant DNA vectors to create GMOs.

Explanation:

The sentence that describes a task on which a genetic engineer is most likely to work is A. modifying the traits of a bacterium. Genetic engineering involves the alteration of an organism's DNA to achieve desirable traits. The process includes adding foreign DNA in the form of recombinant DNA vectors which are generated by molecular cloning, making the recipient a genetically modified organism (GMO). In this context, bacteria are often modified to produce useful substances, such as insulin or to have improved characteristics, such as oil spill degradation capabilities.

GMOs are created through methods such as generating genomic DNA fragments with restriction endonucleases, introducing recombinant DNA into an organism by any means, or overexpressing proteins in E. coli. Hence, option A aligns best with the typical work of a genetic engineer in contrast to the other options that pertain more to the fields of ecology, forensic science, and plant breeding.

An unexpected result is returned by the computer when a program is executed. Which has likely occurred?
an error
a compiler
an interpreter
a stepping function

Answers

Answer:

an error

Explanation:

When an unexpected result happens, it's either because the input data is not what the program expected (error in the input) or the calculation went wrong (error in the process).

An unexpected result can mean lots of different things.  Maybe the program returned a value of 5 instead of 4.  Maybe it exited without giving any result at all (while one was expected).  Maybe it entered into an infinite loop.

A compiler and an interpreter are components responsible to compile or execute your code.  They will raise the error flag but they're not the cause for it.

A stepping function can be one of the possible causes for error... like if you enter an infinite loop... but it's not "likely" the cause of an unexpected result.

Which EOC configuration allows personnel to function in the EOC with minimum preparation or startup time?

Answers

Answer:

The Departmental Structure

Explanation:

Organizations or Jurisdictions may alternatively opt to use their daily departmental structure in their EOC structure. By operating in this way, representatives of these departments can operate in the EOC with minimum preparation or startup time. There are several other types of EOC organizational structures like the Incident Support Model or the ICS. All these types vary in their missions, authorities, and resources.

The EOC configuration allowing for minimal preparation or startup time is a pre-designated EOC with standardized layout and systems, ensuring quick activation and efficient operation during emergencies.

The Emergency Operations Center (EOC) configuration that allows personnel to function in the EOC with minimum preparation or startup time is a pre-designated EOC with a standardized layout and ready-to-use systems. This means that all equipment, resources, and procedures are in place and familiar to personnel who may need to activate the EOC quickly in response to an emergency or disaster. The layout and systems are designed according to standardized procedures, such as those outlined by the Incident Command System (ICS), to ensure that personnel can operate effectively with minimal additional instruction or adjustment.

The invention of the vacuum cleaner occurred during a period of technological innovation that included various household appliances. The 'Dustbuster' was a later development by Black & Decker influenced by Apollo space mission technology.

Explanation:

The invention of the vacuum cleaner falls into the realm of technological advancements that transformed household labor. While portable cordless vacuums became a consumer convenience, thanks to technology developed for space missions like the Apollo and Gemini projects, the vacuum cleaner itself was invented much earlier. Specifically, the history of vacuum cleaners began during the era of technological innovation that included other household appliances, such as refrigerators and washing machines. The Dustbuster, a miniature vacuum cleaner, was influenced by Apollo space mission technologies created by Black & Decker, where a computer program designed to optimize the power consumption of equipment led to its development.

A research firm created a survey asking city residents about building a new city park. The firm will compile the results and create a report. The firm wants to compare the number of people who support the new park to the total number who completed the survey. Which type of calculated figure should the report contain?

A) a percentage
B) a sum
C) a grand total
D) a running sum

Answers

Answer:

I would guess (A), if this is wrong I am very sorry

Explanation:

Answer:

A) a percentage

Explanation:

Since the firm wants to show the proportion of the people who support the new park out of the total number of people who completed the survey, they must use a percentage or a fraction.

Usually percentages are used because a more standard answer can be given: for example, 230 positive answers out of 435 total answers can be represented as 230/435 = 46/87, or we could use 53%.

which of the following is another type of brake system used in trucks

A. Exhaust brake
B. Friction brake
C. Jake brake
D. All of the above

Answers

answer is d hope it helps

Final answer:

The answer to the type of brake system used in trucks other than friction brakes is D. All of the above; which includes exhaust brakes, Jake brakes, and regenerative braking.

Explanation:

The type of brake system used in trucks that is not a friction brake is:

Exhaust brake

Jake brake

Regenerative braking (typically found in hybrid and electric vehicles)

Thus, the answer is D. All of the above, when considering different brake system technologies utilized in trucks.

The exhaust brake and Jake brake are both forms of engine braking used particularly in diesel engines to slow down the vehicle without relying solely on the main friction brake system. Engine braking works by restricting the exhaust flow and creating back pressure, or in the case of a Jake brake, by releasing compressed air trapped in the cylinder. Whereas, regenerative braking is a technology found in hybrid and electric cars where mechanical energy is converted into electrical energy and stored in the battery during braking.
