What are the three outcomes of.the battle of gettysburg? Why is gettysburg still remembered as a turning point in the civil war?

Answers

Answer 1

A different outcome is if the Confederates won instead.

If the Army of the Potomac suffered a defeat in detail early in the war, there would have been little to prevent Lee and Jackson from investing Washington and dictating terms. Lincoln probably would have negotiated peace and retired in disgrace in 1865.

A quick victory was less and less likely after Antietam, since the greater manpower of the Union was already in play, and their ability to produce weapons and naval vessels was obviously greater.

By the time of Gettysburg, Lincoln had already issued the emancipation proclamation and polarized the two sides in ways that were not possible before. Secondarily, the loss at Vicksburg and the ongoing defeats of the Confederate Army of Tennessee made the west a costly secondary front that the Confederacy couldn't afford.

Even with a Confederate win at Gettysburg, they would have had to completely ruin the Army of the Potomac and hope that they could invest Washington before troops could be brought up from the west. The entire campaign was a massive gamble, but given Lee's early successes, it was a calculated risk that he thought was worth taking.

Given the early issues that the Union had with leadership, I don't believe their victory was always assured, but after depleting the Confederate ranks and winning a few battles, a Confederate win became less likely over time.

It was significant because it stopped Confederate General Robert E. Lee's second invasion of the north.

Answer 2

It is considered the turning point in the War because the Unon put the Confederacy on the defensive. It also ended Robert E Lee's biggiest effort to invade union territory. Confederate forces had to retreat and never recovered.

What are three general time-management techniques that you can suggest him?

Answers

1. Prioritize

Most people take a lot of time doing things that are not a priority at that particular moment thus lowering the productivity.   When you prioritize each assignment, you will not only have an easy time solving the important issues but will also ensure that  you get your issues solved on time. When you teach yourself how to prioritize your work, you will greatly save time that you would have otherwise used to do tasks that are not important.

2. Create time management goals

Remember the focus on time management is actually changing your behavior not changing time. You should teach your employees on how to eliminate time waster. For instance, you can challenge them to set a goal of not taking personal call while working and see who much time they will save. By helping your employees create time management goals, you will help them be more productive and efficient in service delivery.

3. Keep a log

When you first begin to teach yourself time management, keep a log for a week of everything that you do throughout the day, then analyze the log that you have kept and look for any time that was wasted each day .If you then help to keep that wasted time to a minimal level, then you can greatly help yourself to use that time to do something useful.

* Make a To-Do List every day

* Use spare minutes wisely

* It’s okay to say “No”

* Find the time when you do your best work

* Review your notes every day

* Get a good night’s sleep

* Communicate your schedule to others

* Become a taskmaster

* Don’t waste time worrying

* Determine your priorities

Final answer:

To improve time management, students can prioritize tasks based on importance, use a schedule to organize time, and implement efficient study techniques. By doing so, they can balance school with after-school activities effectively.

Explanation:

The challenge your friend is facing is a common one among students who are juggling multiple commitments. It is this delicate balancing act that requires efficient time management. Here are three management techniques that could be helpful:

Prioritization: This involves identifying tasks based on their importance and urgency. Schoolwork, obviously, should come first. Other activities, like hobbies or social events, might need to be scheduled around study time.Scheduling: Using a planner or a digital calendar can help visualize how time is spent. Allocating certain hours of the day to specific tasks, such as studying or doing homework, can bring about order and stability to your friend's daily routine.Effective study techniques: Your friend can look into study methods like the Pomodoro Technique (study for 25 minutes, take a 5-minute break, repeat) or active learning strategies (summarizing information, teaching others, etc.), which are designed to increase productivity and make study time more efficient.

Why was the Pacific Northwest referred to as the “final frontier”?

Answers

Final answer:

The Pacific Northwest was called the 'final frontier' as it was the last part of continental America to be explored and settled. It was initially largely unexplored due to its geographical challenges and perceived lack of resources. Exploration and settlement eventually increased after the discovery of resources and fertile land.

Explanation:

The Pacific Northwest was referred to as the 'final frontier' due to historical reasons. The Northwest was the last part of continental America to be explored and settled by Europeans and Euro-Americans during the Westward Expansion, particularly in the 19th century. It came after explorations in the East, across the Atlantic Ocean, and the Mississippi River.

For centuries, the belief in an all-water route, the 'Northwest Passage', that would provide a fast route to Asia and access to trade drove many explorations. However, the Pacific Northwest remained a frontier as it was largely unexplored due to its perceived insurmountable terrain and rumored lack of resources. This was until Lewis and Clark's expedition proven otherwise.

The settling of the Pacific Northwest represented the end of the frontier movement in American history. This area was seen as the 'Final Frontier' due to the geographical, economic, and ideological challenges that it presented. It was not until resources were discovered and the fertile land was suitable for commercial farming that migration to the Northwest increased, hence it being considered the final American frontier.

Rome’s first civil war began as a result of the conflict between two rival military leaders. Hence, Option (A) is correct.

What was Rome’s first civil war?

A brutal power struggle between the politician-generals Gaius Marius and Lucius Cornelius Sulla sparked Rome's first civil war. The rivalry between the two men had been simmering for several years

Marius once claimed credit for one of Sulla's military achievements—and it culminated in war in 88 B.C. when Marius outmaneuvered Sulla to obtain command of the Roman troops in a confrontation with King Mithridates of Pontus. Sulla, enraged at having missed out on glory, gathered his men and marched for Rome.

Sulla assembled his soldiers and set off after King Mithridates after consolidating his grip on Rome. The city was thrown back into civil conflict as soon as he left.

Sulla was compelled to march his 40,000 soldiers again on Rome. He proclaimed himself a dictator and killed hundreds of opposition politicians and aristocrats. Sulla eventually stood down and retired voluntarily in 79 B.C.

Hence, Option (A) is correct.
