the benefit of taking a duel enrollment course instead of an ap course is:
a. you can save on college tuition
b. you can take the course at your high school
c. dual enrollment courses are usually easier
d. you are guaranteed college credit if you pass the class

Answers

Answer 1
D.
If you are also asking this from a personal standpoint, my advice is that the dual enrollment courses are much easier. However, this may not be the best option depending on which college it is based through (Dual credit is NOT universal, and there are some colleges, especially the ones that are harder to get into, that will not accept transfer credit from many colleges.) My advice would be, if you don't know where you are going to college yet, to take the AP and study a lot for that test. Or, if you know where you are going, to take advantage of CLEP tests, which are easier and strictly pass/fail subject tests. Most colleges would have the AP/Transfer Credit/CLEP requirements on their websites if you do a little digging.

In the xy-plane, the point (p, r) lies on the line with equation y = x + b, where b is a constant. the point with coordinates (2p, 5r) lies on the line with equation y = 2x + b. if p does not equal 0, what is the value of r/p?

A). 2/5
B). 3/4
C). 4/3
D). 5/2

Answers

Each point should satisfy the equation of the line it belongs to.
This means that:
for the equation of the first line (y=x+b), the point (p,r) satisfies this equation, thus: r = p + b ....................> equation I
for the equation of the second line (y=2x+b), the point (2p,5r) satisfies this equation, thus: 5r = 4p + b ...................> equation II
Subtract equation I from equation II to eliminate the constant b:
5r-r = 4p+b-p-b
4r = 3p
Thus, r/p = 3/4

The value of r / p would be B). 3/4

Two points, (p, r) and (2p, 5r), both lying on different lines with equations y = x + b and y = 2x + b, respectively. Our goal is to find the value of r/p.

To do this, let's use the fact that both points must satisfy their respective line equations. For the first point (p, r), this means r = p + b, and for the second point (2p, 5r), it means 5r = 4p + b.

By subtracting the first equation from the second, we can eliminate the constant b:

5r - r = 4p + b - p - b

This simplifies to:

4r = 3p

r / p =  3 / 4
