Mrs. Synder must choose two of her homeroom students to be class representatives. The class consists of 13 girls and 9 boys. Approximately what percent chance is there that the first student chosen is a boy and the second student chosen is a girl? (Round to the nearest percent)

A. 10%

B. 25%

C. 22%

D. 15%

Answers

Answer 1
9/22 x 13/21 = 0.25 = 25% B
Answer 2

Answer:   B. 25%

Step-by-step explanation:

Given : Number of boys in the class = 13

Number of girls in the class = 9

Total students  = 13+9=22

Now, the number of ways to choose first boy then a girl =[tex]13\times9=117[/tex]     (1)

Number of ways to choose nay two students :-

[tex]{22}P_{2}=\dfrac{22!}{(22-2)!}\\\\=\dfrac{22\times21\times20!}{20!}=462[/tex]     (2)

Now, the probability that the first student chosen is a boy and the second student chosen is a girl :-

[tex]\dfrac{117}{462}=0.253246753247\approx0.25[/tex]   [Divide (1) by (2)]

In percent , [tex]0.25\times100=25\%[/tex]

Hence, approximately 25% chance that the first student chosen is a boy and the second student chosen is a girl.

Hi there! Her mistake is in step 1.

She subtracted -25 by 25. -25 - 25 = -50

What she SHOULD have done was add 25 to each side. This obeys the property of reciprocals.

-25 + 25 = 0

Hope this helps.

:)
Have you tried solving x yourself to possibly identify the error?

We know that if we have something like
2x - 3 = 2 and to solve for x, we have to get x alone as much as we can.  We have to take the opposite of -3 (which is +3) and add it to both sides of the equations
2x - 3 + 3 = 2 +3 , what that does is cancel out the three on both sides.

For this situation Erica has -5x -25 = 78 the first step she took to try and get x alone as much as she could was to subtract 25 on both sides, which is wrong!!
-5x - 25 - 25 = 78 -25 does not cancel 25 on the left hand side. In fact it doubles it.

So Erica messed up on step 1. She should have added 25 on both sides.

Find 2 pairs of numbers whose LCM is the product Of The Numbers

Answers

5 and 4
3 and 2

Since these two pairs of numbers have no common factors, the LCM will be the product of them.

Hope this helps!
Final answer:

Pairs of numbers whose LCM is the same as their product occur with prime numbers or the number one with any other number. For instance, 2 and 3, and 1 and 6 are such pairs of numbers, since their LCM and their product is 6 in both cases.

Explanation:

To find two pairs of numbers whose LCM (Least Common Multiple) is the product of the numbers themselves, you need to understand that this will only happen with pairs of prime numbers or the number one with any number. Prime numbers are those numbers that have only two distinct positive divisors: 1 and the number itself. If you multiply two prime numbers, or a number and the number one, the product will be their LCM. For example, if you take the numbers 2 and 3, which are both prime, their product is 6 and so is their LCM. The same thing happens if you take the numbers 1 and 6, whose product is 6, and 6 is also their LCM. So, 2 and 3, and 1 and 6 are two pairs of numbers whose LCM is the product of the numbers.

A semiconductor manufacturing company employs 1,000 people. The average weekly salary of each employee is $750. Select the graph that correctly shows the total cost to the company of paying its employees during a year.

Answers

I'd say the top one. The second and third both exceed a year. The last seems to be similar to the top, but I was taught that the dependent variable is the y axis.

Answer:

Option A

Step-by-step explanation:

The semiconductor manufacturing company employs 1000 people average weekly salary of each employee is $750.

So total cost to the company = 750 × 1000

                                                 = $750,000 per week.

From the given graphs, the ratio of amount to weeks will show the cost to the company for a week.

Graph A. Cost to the company = [tex]\frac{300\times 1,000,000}{40}[/tex] =

                 $750,000 per week.

This graph is for 52 week so the correct one.

Graph B. Graph B is same as graph A but data is given for more than 60

                weeks so incorrect graph.

Graph C.  Ratio of amount and weeks is [tex]\frac{40000000}{30}[/tex]

= $1333333.33 per week So incorrect option.

Graph D. Graph D is same as graph A and B but it is for less than 40 weeks.

                So Incorrect graph.

Option A is the answer.

need answer a how u got it

Answers

R= 2/3t + v
R-v=2/3t
3(R-v)=2t
t= 3(R-v)/2
Final answer:

To solve the equation r = 2/3t + v for t, subtract v from both sides and then multiply by the reciprocal of 2/3. The final equation is t = (3/2)(r - v).

Explanation:

You are looking to solve the equation r = 2/3t + v for t. To do this, you need to isolate t on one side of the equation. Here are the steps:

Subtract v from each side. This gives us: r - v = 2/3t. To get t alone, we need to get rid of 2/3. Therefore multiply both sides of the equation by the reciprocal of 2/3, which is 3/2, resulting in: (3/2)(r-v) = t.

So the answer is t = (3/2)(r-v).
