Ethnic and collectivistic
Nazi Germany, as per Liah Greenfeld's analysis, exemplifies an extreme form of nationalist ideology, known as fascist nationalism, defined by ultra-nationalism, racism, and authoritarianism.
According to Liah Greenfeld, Nazi Germany is an example of a nationalism that is highly authoritarian and ethnically exclusive. This form of nationalism is considered an extreme, which is characterized by a sense of superiority of a particular national group, exclusion of minorities, and the presence of an authoritarian leadership to enforce these ideas. This paradigm of nationalism paved the way for totalitarianism and can be described as fascist nationalism, as it exhibits traits of ultra-nationalism and racism, where the fascist party, led by Hitler, took nationalism to a disturbing place by characterizing the Aryan race as superior and others as enemies or liabilities.
Explain the impact of cultural diffusion on African civilizations during this period. Support your answer by describing how these civilizations interacted with foreign cultures and how their own societies changed as a result. Your answer should be at least two paragraphs long.
In general and regardless of time, cultural diffusion has been a very positive thing for African civilizations as it has allowed for the communication of goods, beliefs, languages, traditions, customs, culture and activities from the African continent to others and from others to Africa. It also brought a knowledge on the continent itself.
However, it has also had a negative impact, especially during the colonization of Africa by the European powers. The reason for this negative impact is that Europeans were not able to see and accept the culture and traditions of African civilizations and they tried to force their own views and ways of thinking on Africans. The result was a diffusion of European customs, languages and culture to Africa that not only forced changes on the original culture of the continent, but also caused severe problems between two races and conflicts even within the continent itself. Many wars and a lot of the violence that took place during the colonies and even after colonization was over were generated due to this forced diffusion.
