As the Spanish established American colonies, they sent silver and gold mined in the Americas to Spain. Spain, like many other European countries of the time, believed that a country's wealth depended on how much silver and gold it owned. This is an example of which type of economic system?

Answers

mercantilism

(Mercantilism was an economic system that was prevalent among European nations during the sixteenth, seventeenth, and eighteenth centuries. This economic policy greatly influenced the economic activities of European countries and their colonies. Because nations that followed this economic policy felt their power depended on the amount of silver and gold that they possessed, countries like Spain tried to acquire as much silver and gold as possible.) Hope this helps!:)

This is an example of a mercantilism type of economic system. Spain's nearly nonexistent industrial base forced the country to import commodities. Additionally, gold was essential to Spain since it was used to manufacture currency. Spain has to pay for its own defense against other nations. Without money, Spain was a helpless, impoverished nation.

What is mercantilism?

Governments utilized their economy to strengthen state authority at the expense of other nations in a process known as mercantilism. Governments attempted to build up wealth in the form of bullion, primarily gold and silver, and to ensure that exports surpassed imports.

These shiploads of gold and silver simply increased the amount of money in circulation, which decreased the value of Spain's existing currencies. The Spanish economy was under significant strain from American bullion, and this pressure only grew as a result of the additional expenses associated with the empire.

A city is located at the following coordinates: 40°N 115°E. Based on these coordinates, which of the following is true?

Answers

Final answer:

The city located at 40°N 115°E is in the northern and eastern hemispheres, north of the equator and east of the Prime Meridian, east of Baghdad and west of Tokyo.

Explanation:

The city with coordinates 40°N 115°E is located in the northern hemisphere because it is north of the equator, which is at 0° latitude. The 'N' in the coordinate stands for 'north,' indicating this direction from the equator. Additionally, the city is in the eastern hemisphere because it is east of the Prime Meridian, which passes through Greenwich, England, and is the reference point for longitude at 0°. Thus, a location like Washington, DC, which has coordinates at 38° N and 77° W, is also in the northern hemisphere but in the western hemisphere because it is west of the Prime Meridian. Other cities such as Chicago are also located in the northern hemisphere and are measured in degrees of longitude to the west of the Prime Meridian, indicating their western hemisphere position. In this coordinate system, the maximum latitude is 90° at the poles, and the maximum longitude is 180°, both east and west of the Prime Meridian. Keeping this in mind, we can determine that the city at 40°N 115°E lies considerably east of Baghdad (42°E longitude) and west of Tokyo (139°E longitude).

The correct statement is: The city is north of the equator and east of the Prime Meridian.

The coordinates "40°N 115°E" indicate that the city is located at 40 degrees north latitude and 115 degrees east longitude. In geographical terms, latitude measures the north-south position relative to the equator, and longitude measures the east-west position relative to the Prime Meridian. Since the latitude is 40 degrees north, it is north of the equator. Additionally, since the longitude is 115 degrees east, it is east of the Prime Meridian. Therefore, the correct interpretation is that the city is north of the equator and east of the Prime Meridian.

Q- A city is located at the following coordinates: 40°N 115°E. Based on these coordinates, which of the following is true?

The city is north of the equator and east of the Prime Meridian.

The city is north of the Prime Meridian and west of the equator.

The city is south of the equator and west of the Prime Meridian.

The city is south of the Prime Meridian and east of the equator.

which type of political and social order is shown in this diagram ?

Answers

The diagram described probably shows varying types of political and social order, ranging from non-state customary orders to highly structured state organizations with centralized bureaucratic power. It draws from a spectrum of political structures, recognizing hybrid systems and the evolution of societies through complex processes of historical change.

The diagram likely depicts different types of political and social order based on the level of socio-cultural integration and governance structure. These types range from non-state customary orders, representing acephalous societies like bands and tribes with no formal leadership or temporary leadership systems, to more complex state organizations with centralized leadership, including chiefdoms and states that have formal, bureaucratic institutions and a monopoly on the legitimate use of physical force.

These forms of social organization are part of a spectrum described by scholars like Elman Service, who identified four levels of political organization: band, tribe, chiefdom, and state. This schema also recognizes the existence of hybrid political orders that combine elements of Weberian and customary orders, often found in the Global South, including the Pacific region. It’s important to note that while these ideal types provide a framework for understanding political structures, actual societies often exhibit a mix of these characteristics and can change in complex and sometimes unpredictable ways.

Regal societies are expected to have a hierarchical political system with strong centralized power, while kungic societies would have an egalitarian political system with little or no formal leadership. These are models that help in understanding the diversity of political systems around the world.

Changes in our Gross Domestic Product (GDP) can be most directly attributed to factors that affect investment and consumer demand. Key contributors to GDP fluctuations are the level of gross private domestic investment, which includes business expenditures on infrastructure and equipment, residential construction, and changes in business inventories. Among the options provided, the steady growth of manufacturing jobs has a significant direct impact on GDP, as the manufacturing sector plays a crucial role in the economy by contributing to both employment and production capacity. Ready credit for middle class mortgages can also have a substantial impact, as it affects residential construction spending, which is part of gross private domestic investment. Both of these factors play vital roles in the dynamics of GDP over time.
